Age: 205-200 Million Years Old (Early Jurassic) Location: Connecticut River Valley, CT Ichnogenus: Grallator Species: Unknown Theropod Slab Size: 11”x 9.10” x 0.5” Footprint Size: 7” x 5”
Recently and legally collected in private property along the Connecticut River Valley near Middletown, CT. This is the fossil impression of a Theropod (raptor) that existed some 210 Million Years Ago. The species that made these tracks is relatively unknown to science, but it can be said safely that this was made by a carnivorous theropod Between 5-7 feet tall.
These footprints have a light polish applied to help visibility. Although the footprints are relatively deep in the sediment, they still easily blend into the sediment they’re preserved in when under immediate light. Casting a shadow helps reveal them if you wish to wash the polish off.
