Burmese (Burmite) amber is difficult to acquire and has been dated to be Cretaceous in age (around 100 million years old) and would have been sticky resin during the time of the dinosaurs and is being mined in the Hukawng Valley in Myanmar (Burma). I do not actively source Burmite Amber due to the ethical complications of to its alleged role in funding internal conflict in Myanmar and hazardous working conditions in the mines where it is collected.
This is a fully polished, gem quality piece of Burmite (Burmese) amber that contains a spider from the Cretaceous Period that lived with the dinosaurs! It is approximately 99 million years old.
The piece itself weighs 0.7 grams with dimensions of 1.1 cm length by 1 cm width and 0.7 cm height. NOTE: 2.54 cm is 1 inch.
