Recently and legally collected in private property along the Connecticut River Valley near Middletown, CT. This is the fossil impression of a Theropod (raptor) that existed some 200 Million Years Ago. The species that made these tracks is relatively unknown to science, but it can be said safely that this was made by multiple carnivorous theropods of various sizes. The smallest individuals likely being 5-7 feet tall, while the largest being approximately 13-20 feet tall. These footprints have an applied washable polish to help increase visibility. As seen in the photos, trace fossils like footprints can be hard to see when not under direct light as they blend in with the sedimentary rock they are preserved in.
